Rhône Valley
Dolia Paradis - 2013 - Philippe Viret
Domaine Viret
Candied black fruits, dried herbs from the garrigue, cigar box. Southern mouthfeel, ample, crazy texture, the tannins support the tertiary aromas, yet the whole is fresh and subtle, a memorable experience at a reasonable price... a cuvée that lives up to its name! Decanting is mandatory.

A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from vines planted on clay-limestone soils, grown using the method perfected by the Virets: cosmoculture. Manual harvest and natural vinification. Long maceration in amphorae, very gentle, without extraction, for one year (!), gentle pressing, long aging in the same amphorae, specially created by a local potter. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, and without any addition of sulfites. Matured in bottles in the estate cellars.
