Gin - Isle Of Harris

Great purity, the nose is fresh, precise, fruity, refined. Notes of juniper berries and pine, citrus fruits, sea spray and iodine, with coriander and rose hints. Palate: long and subtle texture, carried by aromas of mango, grapefruit, orange... Finish on pepper and maritime notes. A true marine style, just like the island.

Gin from Isle of Harris, produced from a single distillation in a small traditional copper still. Nine botanicals are used for this gin, and particularly the Sugar kelp seaweed, harvested manually by divers in the seas of the island. In addition to juniper berries, cinnamon, coriander seeds, orange peel, cubebs, angelica and orris roots make up the aromatic framework. The spirit is softened by the fresh, low-mineral rainwaters which flow from the nearby source stream. Resting for a few weeks before bottling without the addition of sugars or aromas, this is a London Dry Gin. The bottle, made by hand, is inspired by the movement of the sands and the sea on the long Luskentyre beaches.

The Harris distillery opened its doors on September 24th, 2015, facing the sea, on a splendid, almost magical island in the North of Scotland. Anderson Burr Bakewell e believed that the rare and elusive spirit of this island could be captured in a bottle and shared with the world. After seven years of research, the distillery was born and it is around a big inaugural fire and a monumental party that it was demonstrated. A project that has made a real difference for the community of the island, which until then had seen its population decimate. Gaelic culture and dreamy maritime landscapes have found their ambassador in this gin which best expresses all the particularity of Harris.
