Jura
A Chardonnay with finesse and purity, with aromas of white fruit, almonds in the shell and subtle mineral notes. The palate is fluid and smooth, with both acidity and roundness, and a great deal of pleasure for the price. Bravo Marin!
100% Chardonnay, a blend of young and old vines around 35 years old on average, planted on different vineyard sites (La Teppe aux Loups, Fertans...), on marl and limestone soils in Montigny and Arbois. The vinification is natural: direct pressing, 48 hours of settling by gravity, fermentation and aging in casks and barrels that have seen several wines, 18 months of maturation. Bottled at the estate et the beginning of 2025, with sulfites used only sparingly.
Marin Fumey, a young purebred Jura winegrower, has always bathed in Vin Jaune! His parents Adeline and Raphaël founded the estate in 1986 with only 56 acres of vines. While it remains a family affair, today Fumey-Chatelain totals sixteen hectares of vines in the process of being converted to organics.
