100% Ploussard, a single vineyard cuvée from 70-year-old vines planted in 1953 on the thick grey marl soils of the Fertans Grand Cru vineyard site, a south facing slope with a small river running through the plot. The vinification is natural: totally destemmed (by hand!) , the vats are delicately filled using a bucket to preserve the berries as much as possible, about 10 days of maceration, followed by 10 months of maturation large 32-hl casks, without new oak. Bottled at the estate with sulfites used only sparingly.

Marin Fumey, a young purebred Jura winegrower, has always bathed in Vin Jaune! His parents Adeline and Raphaël founded the estate in 1986 with only 56 acres of vines. While it remains a family affair, today Fumey-Chatelain totals sixteen hectares of vines in the process of being converted to organics.
