Vigneaux - 2017 - Laurent Troubat
An extraordinary nose, with notes of blood orange, raspberry and pepper. You’d think this was a complex Pineau d'Aunis! Palate: this is a serious and structured juice, smooth and velvety, with delicate tannins. It’s more of the same for this cuvée’s second vintage – which is to say, yet another success! A lovely wine for gastronomy.

A 100% Cabernet Franc cuvée from 45-year-old vines farmed organically and planted on a terroir of Jurassic-era flinty clay. Yield around 30 hl/ha. Vinification: 7 days of maceration, and two years maturation in concrete eggs. Only a micro-dose of sulphur at bottling.
Laurent Troubat (from Savoie) and Pauline Mourrain (from Brittany) met at engineering school in Strasbourg. Graduating in 2011, they quickly realised they’d chosen the wrong career.
