Chardonnay from biodynamic vines on a 1.02 ha parcel, originally planted with Pinot Noir. The 35 year old vines were overgrafted with Chardonnay in 2005, while the lower part of the plot was replanted with Franc de pied. Hand-picked, direct pressing, light settling of the must, then racking into barrels with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in 600 and 228 litre barrels. One year's ageing in barrels with about of 30% new barrels, then 6 months' ageing in stainless steel vats.

Etienne de Montille personifies the Domaine de Montille, the celebrated estate in Volnay whose origins date back to the 1750s.
