Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes - 2023 - Domaine Hubert Lamy
Olivier Lamy

100% Chardonnay from old vines planted in 1935, 1960, and 1985 for a total of 2.4 ha, on light, shallow soils (10 to 30 cm), clay-limestone, with decomposed old limestone, on a Kimmeridgian subsoil. South-east exposure. Hand-harvested in small crates. Vinification: direct and long pressing, light settling, the juice is transferred into casks for fermentation and long ageing in 600-liter demi-muids with little new oak. Six months of ageing in tank before bottling, sensible use of sulphur.
